About me
Ricardo Gómez

I'm Ricardo Gómez — a Social Communicator, a specialist in Pedagogy and Higher Education, and a language coach certified by the International Language Coach Association (ILCA).
I've always been drawn to helping people develop their potential and, above all, find better ways to communicate.
For several years I was a university lecturer in Bogotá, Colombia, in the faculties of Communication, Psychology and Education. Over time I understood something fundamental: knowing something isn't enough if you can't communicate it effectively.
So I began building workshops on communication and public speaking. Later, I noticed how many people struggled to communicate in English, especially in professional settings.
English is the means. Communication is the goal.
El inglés es el medio. La comunicación es el objetivo.

Language coaching: a new way to improve how you communicate in English
Almost all of us were there once: a small room, ten or twenty students — teenagers and adults in their thirties — staring at a whiteboard, or in the better cases an electronic one.
At the front, a smiling teacher. Foreign or local, it didn't matter. But always smiling. Checked shirts, jeans and suede boots. Thick-framed, hipster glasses.
"Ricardo, tell me about your daily routine."
And Ricardo — whichever Ricardo it was that day — feeling the question like an arrow crossing the little room and lodging in his chest, would start to stammer in nervous English.

Every so often I write about learning languages, communicating better, and daring to use what we already know. No magic formulas.
